Scan cleanup
Turn a phone photo of a page into a cleaner scan. ReadyLens can detect page corners, correct perspective, straighten the image, and export a cleaned JPEG or PNG in your browser.
Scan cleanup
Correct page perspective, straighten, and clean up a photographed document.
HELP & DETAILS
Using this tool
Steps
- Open Scan Cleanup and select a photo of a document with visible page edges.
- Review the detected corners and adjust any corner that does not match the page.
- Set the straighten angle and choose color, grayscale, or black-and-white output.
- Export the result and check that no text, stamps, or page edges were clipped.
Improve edge detection
Automatic detection works best when the page contrasts with the surface beneath it and all four edges are visible. If detection misses a corner, place the corner controls manually before applying perspective correction.
Select a useful output mode
- Color keeps colored marks and highlights.
- Grayscale can reduce color distractions while preserving shading.
- Black-and-white thresholding can improve contrast but may remove pale text or details.
Browser processing
Image cleanup uses browser-side OpenCV and does not upload the source document. The OpenCV library may take a moment to download the first time the tool is opened.
Common questions
Why were the page corners detected incorrectly?
The page may blend into the background, have a shadow, or be partly outside the photo. Adjust the four corners manually before exporting.
Can I make the result black and white?
Yes. Choose black-and-white output and adjust the threshold, then inspect the result for faint text or marks that may have disappeared.
Is the document uploaded?
No. Perspective correction and scan cleanup run in your browser.
